BRITISH Prime Minister Gordon Brown plans to wind back a series of restrictions on the free flow of information and encourage greater scrutiny of public life in Britain. Mr Brown has promised to protect the rights of investigative journalism, improve court access and freedom-of-information legislation and investigate the idea of subjecting future laws to what he described as a freedom-of-expression audit.
